Endangered species. Endemic to Brazil. The White Hawk, also known as the White Dove Hawk, is an Accipitriform bird of the Accipitridae family. It formerly had the scientific name Leucopternis lacernulata. Also known as the White Hawk, White Dove Hawk, White Hawk, and White-tailed Hawk. It has a pure white head and lower body. In flight, it can be confused with doves. The back is black, the wings have a black pattern on the ventral side, and are also black on the dorsal side. Short, white tail with a narrow base and a black subapical band. Because of its pure white color, the species stands out from a distance. It measures 43 to 52 cm in length, with a wingspan of 96 cm, wing length of 295 mm, tail length of 157 mm, beak length of 23 mm, and tarsus length of 85 mm.
