The Black-cheeked Gnateater (Conopophaga melanops) is a passerine bird of the Conopophagidae family. Also known as the Black-cheeked Ant-Tanager. It measures between 10.5 and 12 centimeters in length and weighs around 20 grams. It is endemic to the Atlantic Forest. The male and female have different plumages mainly in the head (the female has a white stripe over the eyes) and in the coloration of the underparts (gray in the male and orange-rufous in the female).
